The Clever Fox

Once upon a time, a clever fox named Felix lived in a lush green forest. He was known throughout the forest for his intelligence and wit.

One day, Felix heard that the king of the forest, a fierce bear named Boris, had decided to hold a contest to find the cleverest animal in the forest. Felix knew he had to win this contest, as the prize was a golden acorn, the most delicious and sought-after food in the forest.

Felix had a plan. He went to the forest and collected a large number of shiny pebbles. He then went to the king’s palace and announced that he had a gift for the king. Boris, curious as to what it could be, asked Felix to show him.

Felix pulled out a small bag and began to pour out the shiny pebbles. The king’s eyes lit up as he saw the beautiful pebbles and asked Felix where he had found them. Felix, with a sly grin on his face, told the king that he had found them at the bottom of a deep well and that there were many more where that came from.

Boris, excited at the prospect of having so many shiny pebbles, asked Felix to show him the well. Felix, still smiling, led the king to a small pond and pointed to the bottom. Boris, not realizing that he had been tricked, dove into the water to retrieve the pebbles but soon found himself stuck in the mud.

Felix, now free to roam the forest and enjoy the golden acorn, laughed and said, “Cleverness is the best weapon, and it is better to outwit your enemy than to fight them.”

The king, now covered in mud, was left to realize the lesson, and Felix emerged as the contest winner.
